Salmon Bowl is back! OSU is excited to announce the 2024 Salmon Bowl on February 2nd-3rd. Friday will feature welcome events including lab tours, sessions with OSU undergraduate admissions representatives, bowling at our on campus MU Lanes, and dinner! The quiz bowl will take place on Saturday. Please see below for information on how to register teams or sign up to volunteer. We are looking forward to seeing our Salmon Bowl community in person!

For Oregon Science Teachers

If you are an Oregon teacher and want to register teams for Salmon Bowl 2024, or would like more information, please email salmonbowl.nosb@gmail.com.

OSU Volunteers are needed for this event!

We always need volunteers for our events and would love to have you on our team! Please fill out this Google Form to sign up for volunteering. If you have prior NOSB/Salmon Bowl experience and/or have a preference for your role, please let us know! Volunteer positions usually include but are not limited to:

  • Rules/science Judge
  • Moderator
  • Scorekeeper/Timekeeper
  • Room set-up and breakdown
  • Volunteer and Team check-in
  • Food (pick-up and serving)
  • Other general logistics

If volunteering as a game official sounds like more of a commitment than you can make, then please consider volunteering as support staff. These positions don't require any training, just set-up day and/or game-day commitment where you still get to interact with the teams. Register here to volunteer! If you have any questions, please email us at salmonbowl.volunteer@gmail.com.

What is in it for you?

To show our gratitude, all our volunteers get a free t-shirt, lunch, and a chance to win amazing prizes during our volunteer raffle! Most importantly, you’ll receive that warm fuzzy feeling that comes from donating your time to a worthwhile cause. Salmon Bowl engages high school students in ocean science, introduces them to OSU where they can meet CEOAS students and faculty, and promotes marine science literacy.
